MP Luigi Bobba (PD Party) asked yesterday the Commission questions about the measures to be taken to protect children from gambling addiction in order to implement mass media campaigns and school-based gambling prevention policies to increase awareness and education about responsible gambling. MP Bobba stressed that "Underage gambling is expressly prohibited by Italian law, forbidding payment of prizes to minors under 18 and imposing penalties to dealers, as regards online sports betting, casinos and online poker in the case, as gambling is restricted to persons over the age of 18" [...] although, the interpellant said "young people have not access to the information they need to make responsible choices [...]". agicosinternational - 28/07/2010 - mf | |
