(AGICOSINTERNATIONAL) - 21 July 2010 - WORLD CUP BETTING: THE WORLD CUP FINAL MATCH WAS THE LARGEST EVER BETTING EVENT

As for the knockout stage, the World Cup final between Holland and Spain was the most staked event. More than €18 million was wagered on the event, which is also the highest revenue collection for an individual game during the World Cup. Germany-Spain gain second place with €13.6 million in betting revenue, followed by Argentina-Germany (more than €10.26 million), Paraguay-Spain (€10.21 million) and Uruguay-Holland (€9.7 million). Overall, betting revenues amounted to €133 million for the knockout stage. The quarter-final match between Argentina and Germany offset the 1/8 final match between Germany and England in terms of turnover. Live betting accounted for almost 20% of the total turnover, whilst live betting volume on 21 games exceeded €1 million.
