(AGICOSINTERNATIONAL) - 16 June 2009 - ONLINE GAMING: REVENUE TOTALLED €1.510 MILLION IN THE FIRST FIVE MONTHS OF 2009

The Italian online gaming market continues strong revenue growth. In the first five months of 2009 gaming revenue rose 186.4% to €1.510 million from €527 million over the same period last year. In May, online gaming revenue reached €336.7 million from €323.3 million in April. In Italy people can enjoy a lot of gaming and betting products on the Internet such as sports betting, horse-race betting, instant lottery tickets, National horseracing, pool games, (Totocalcio, Il9, Totogol), tote bets (Big Match and Big Race) and skill games. According to data published by AAMS and made public by Agicos, skill games with online poker are the unquestioned leaders of this market segment. The first five months of 2009 saw Skill games overtake online sports betting in terms of turnover, approximately €854.2 million compared to €570.4 million bet on sporting events. Online instant lottery tickets generated €35.4 million in revenue whilst horse-race betting accounted for 35.5 million of euros.
