(AGICOSINTERNATIONAL) - 15 July 2010 - ONLINE GAMING: "SERVICE CHARTER" WILL INFORM AND PROTECT THE PLAYER

The Service Charter is a useful tool to facilitate information and communication between citizen/user (hereinafter referred to as the “Player”) and Public Administration (AAMS, through dealers), to be clear it is a “agreement” or an informal “contract” between the two sides. AAMS will use the Service Charter to inform the player about the activities related to gaming and carried out by the State Monopolies Autonomous Administration, as public authority, making explicit the ways of approaching this undertaking, especially providing information about remote gambling and promoting a responsible approach to gambling: the AAMS strengthens its commitments (quality standards) and those imposed on dealers and “undertakes” to respect and enforce them; by monitoring compliance with the commitments, the AAMS gives the player a tool to report the “unfulfilment” of such contracts (through the complaint form), guarantees its commitments directly to the player and intervenes in case of dealerships’ non-compliance. The Service Charter safeguards and keeps the players up to date on news, ensures the performance of the service in line with the commitments undertaken by the AAMS and dealers allowing direct control on product quality. The dealer, under the agreement, is committed to ensuring quality services with particular emphasis on fair and responsible gambling. Remote gambling means playing a game through any kind of remote communication, through a gaming platform on the Internet, TV or phone (without the physical presence of the player). Users must be over the age of 18 to access gambling websites. All players need to register before playing, declaring at least residence, age, identity and tax identification number. They are also required to open a game account, giving their consent to the processing of their personal data. Once the contract is completed, the players must send a copy of their own document to dealer in the manner prescribed by individual dealers.
